The Pegasus32 design specifications and fans.
The Pegasus32 is designed to supply 85 Watts of charging power even when the host system is shutdown or in a sleep state. Because of this, the Pegasus 32 power supply fan remains on for the cooling need of supplying 85Watt charging power during these states. In these states, the Pegasus 32 main fan is turned off and all hard disks are spun down, to reduce noise to a minimum.
The power supply fan noise can be eliminated by by two methods, either by shutting the Pegasus32 down with the power button, which is in the front of the Pegasus 32, or by disconnecting the Thunderbolt cable from the Pegasus32 or computer side. Please eject the Pegasus32 volume before disconnecting the Thunderbolt cable.
To shutdown the Pegasus32 using the power button...
- Eject the volume then hold down the power button for about 6 seconds, the Pegasus32 wil power off completely.
If this is done, the Pegasus32 will have to be powered on with the power button.
- Hold down the power button for about 6 seconds, the Pegasus32 will power up
