Single Controller Promise VTrak E-Class LUN Affinity Disabled + Firmware Version Check
The following Promise VTrak E-Class Single Controller SKU will ship with LUN Affinity Disabled:
TV270xx/x
Caution:
1. For users planning to use a spare controller to upgrade from single controller SKU to dual controller
2. For controllers running 10.05.2270.01 firmware or newer on their existing controller
Please do the following:
- Enable LUN Affinity first on your existing single controller unit using CLI or WebPam Pro E. For instructions please see the following:

- For controllers running newer than 10.05.2270.01 firmware on their existing controller make sure your spare controller has the matching firmware of your running controller (please see firmware upgrade instructions bundled with your respective firmware release)
- Verify that the “Redboot RAM” version in your SubSystem report to be 1.02.2270.02. Please see the following:

Assuming the above has been checked you can proceed to simply hot insert the spare controller into the Vtrak E-Class unit. Once the upgrade has been conducted and your LUNs are balanced correctly proceed to then power up the respective hosts.

LUN Affinity:
LUN Affinity is a procedure through which a logical drive or a set logical drives are exposed to initiators through one of the controllers. A subsystem wide LUN Affinity enable/disable facility is provided which is managed through VTrak E-Class controller settings. When LUN Affinity is enabled, the user can specify which controller a particular LUN is affinitive to.
