If the rebuild is stopped on revertible spares and restarted on a newly inserted drive in the original dead drive slot, this may lead to a condition where the revertible spare rebuild is switched to an un-configured drive rebuild. The rebuild abort is ok in this case and may be the reason why the rebuild did not start on the spare.
There are few places where the rebuild abort can occur. The following are conditions where this may occur:
- When logical drive is marked offline.
- When rebuilding a PD (physical disk) and the PD is marked dead.
- When the rebuild stops internally to start another rebuild with different destination drive.
