Before proceeding with shutdown, always eject or dismount the connected Pegasus R12 volume(s). This ensures data integrity and safe power-down of the storage system.

Option 1: Using PROMISE Utility Pro

1. Open PROMISE Utility Pro.

2. Go to the Controls menu and click on the Device.

3. Click the Power Button icon and select Shut down the device.

4. A warning dialog will appear to prevent accidental shutdown. If your Pegasus R12 is part of a daisy chain (connected via Thunderbolt to other devices), those devices will also shut down.

5. Wait a few minutes for the shutdown process to complete. The Power Button LED on the front will light red during shutdown. Once the LED is off, you can safely disconnect the power cord.

Option 2: Using the Power Button

1. Eject or dismount the connected Pegasus R12 volume(s) first.
- On Mac, drag the volume icon into the Trash/Eject symbol, or right-click and choose Eject.
2. Touch and hold the Power Button on the device for about four seconds.
3. The shutdown process will begin, lighting the Power Button LED red during shutdown. Any devices connected via Thunderbolt behind the R12 will also enter shutdown mode.
4. Once the LED turns off, it’s safe to disconnect the power cord if needed.

Important: Always eject or dismount connected volumes before shutting down to prevent data loss or corruption.
