To set up a new storage pool, start by deciding which type of pool fits your needs. There are two options:

1. Standard Pool: This is best for applications that require performance and enhanced response times. It's great for uses like video surveillance, rich media, and IT applications. Keep in mind that standard pools don't offer data services such as Snapshot, Clone, Replication, or Migration.

2. Advanced Pool: This is tailored for backup and archive purposes and includes various data services.

For Standard Pools, remember the following limitations:
- They can't be expanded.
- NAS shares or volumes within standard pools can't exceed the largest contiguous space available.
