Solution:
Dynamic disks are limited under Windows 2000 (NTFS5) to 2 TeraBytes (TB). Dynamic volumes are limited under Windows 2000 (NTFS5) to 64 TB. Regardless of the file system, there is a logical limit of 8,192 EB (2^63 bytes) for volume input/output (I/O) operations.
As of July 2002, the NTFS implementation limits any NTFS volume to a maximum size of between 2 TB (2^32 allocation units x 512 bytes/all.unit) and 256 TB (2^32 allocation units x 65536 bytes/all.unit).
The physical disk access structures are limited to a maximum size of 2 TB (2^32 sectors x 512 bytes/sector) for each physical disk. This limit is made by the disk driver file (Disk.sys).
Spanned and striped volumes are limited to 32 members each.
Additional Information:
You cannot convert a disk that is larger than 2 TB to a dynamic disk. This limit is made by the disk driver file (Disk.sys). However, the logical layers above can address larger disks. The maximum size of a dynamic volume (spanned/striped) under Windows 2000 is 32 x 2 TB = 64 TB.
